Cushing's Syndrome

Symptoms may become more obvious as the disease progresses. These include:

increased thirst and urination

increased appetite

‘pot-bellied’ appearance

frequent panting

tiring on exercise

changes in the coat

Diagnosis of Cushing’s syndrome is made after a series blood and urine tests. In some cases an ultrasound scan of the abdomen may be recommended.

Treatment involves daily medication to help normalise cortisol levels, which can result in a dramatic improvement in your pet’s day-to-day life.
