Cats can get very anxious when taken out of their usual environment and this can make owners reluctant to seek veterinary attention when their cat needs it. By undertaking Cat Friendly Clinic accreditation with The Australian Society of Feline Medicine (ASFM) – which is part of the International Society of Feline Medicine (ISFM), we’ve committed to delivering high standards of cat care with compassion and expertise.
We have attained the top level of accreditation which ensures we demonstrate the following attributes:
understand the unique needs of cats and have processes in place to make veterinary visits more comfortable for cats both as in-patients and out-patients
understand how to approach and handle cats in a gentle, empathic and caring manner
have a separate area in the waiting room and provide each carrier with a light fabric cover containing synthetic feline pheromones to relax your cat
have the necessary specialised equipment to investigate and treat feline diseases and vets who have done further study in feline medicine and behaviour to ensure extremely high levels of care at every stage
have specially designed, separate facilities for hospitalised cats and designated cats-only consulting times
Recognising the unique challenges for cats visiting a vet, we at Bedford-Dianella Vet Centre are proud to be Gold Status members of the ISFM’s Cat Friendly Clinic Standard.
We will respond within 4 hours or on the next business day.
